hEX PoE is a five port Gigabit Ethernet router for locations where wireless connectivity is not required. The device has a USB 2.0 port and an SFP port for adding optical fibre connectivity. Ports 2–5 can power other PoE capable devices with the same voltage as applied to the unit.

It is affordable, small and easy to use, but at the same time comes with a very powerful 800 MHz CPU, capable of all the advanced configurations that RouterOS supports.

Fewer power adapters and cables to worry about. Maximum current is 1 A per port if input voltage is 12–30 V, or 450 mA at 31–57 V. The Ethernet ports are shielded.

RB960PGS can power 802.3af/at devices if a 48 V DC input is used — the unit ships with a 24 V supply, so a 48 V adapter must be purchased separately. The unit provides a maximum of 450 mA per port regardless of device power class; it does not support powered-device classification.
