Overview

The HBE‑CAT6 is a finished Cat 6 patch cable — made off at both ends and ready to plug in — for the runs where Wi‑Fi is the wrong answer: the drop from a 5G outdoor router into the building, the link from a switch to a desk, the camera at the far end of a car park. It carries up to 10 Gbps over 550 MHz and is backward compatible with Cat 5 and Cat 5e, so it goes into a network that already exists without anything else changing.

Underneath that figure are 26 AWG bare copper conductors in stranded twisted pairs, aluminium foil shielding and gold‑plated RJ45 contacts, in a dual‑layer UV‑resistant jacket rated from −20 °C to 80 °C (−4 °F to 176 °F) — so one part covers the exposed run up a mast and the tidy run behind a skirting board. Pick a length above and the price follows it; all eight, from 10 to 200 ft, are the same cable.

About the HBE-CAT6

The HBE-CAT6 is the patch cable we reach for on an HBE-5G install: the run from the outdoor router or antenna back to the equipment indoors, made off at both ends and ready to plug in.

It carries 10 Gbps over 550 MHz of bandwidth and is backward compatible with Cat 5 and Cat 5e, so it drops into 10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX, 1000BASE-T and 10GBASE-T networks without anything else changing. Eight cut lengths cover the short jump from a switch to a desk and the long pull from a roof mount to a rack.

  • Aluminium foil shielding against crosstalk and electromagnetic interference
  • Gold-plated 8P8C RJ45 contacts on moulded strain-relief boots
  • Dual-layer jacket — UV-resistant PVC over LLDPE

Where it goes

The jacket is rated from −20 °C to 80 °C (−4 °F to 176 °F) and is waterproof, sun-proof and abrasion resistant, so the same cable does the exposed roof run and the tidy run along a skirting board. Inside, it plugs into routers, modems, switches, PCs and laptops, printers, network servers and NAS boxes, VoIP phones, IP cameras, smart TVs, media players and PS5, PS4 or Xbox consoles — plug and play, no configuration.

It is built to TIA/EIA-568B on a CM-grade PVC sheath, is ETL verified and is RoHS compliant.
